Message from the Commodore
Welcome to the latest update of the Rome Sailing Club's World Wide Web page.
Our sailing club presently has over sixty members from around the Tennessee, Georgia and Alabama area.
However, some of our members live in Florida. Access to our web page keeps all our past and current
members in contact with their "sailing friends". Please enjoy the pictures and information
displayed over the next few pages.
If you have found our site randomly and you have some interest in joining our sailing club; please
contact the Vice Commodore for a membership packet. I would like to stress the point that we are
a sailing organization and not a boating club. We do not allow launching of motor vessels of any
type, sailboats only. We also require that you own a sailboat before applying for a membership.
Please send your specific questions to the Commodore.
We have several types of activities for club members - cookouts, races, raft ups and dance parties. Our annual Weiss Lake Regatta, which is usually held the weekend before Labor Day, is our biggest event. Boats from around the southeast participate in these races which are affiliated with the Dixie Inland Yacht Racing Association (DIYRA). If you have an interest in the racing schedules, please send us an email through the "contact us" tab. RSC members will find the calendar page useful since many of you have lost your calendar. Also, we are encouraging all members to send us their email addresses for notices of special events and "Tale-tales". Please send your email address to the Yeoman and help save the club postage fees.
We always welcome your comments and suggestions. We plan to have comments page on this web site
for all members to review. Please enjoy this new boating season.
SEE YOU AT THE FINISH LINE.
